Philippines " A Nation of Servants" - Chip Tsao

A guy named Chip Tsao wrote his reaction to the Philippine policy on the Spratly Islands. Here’s a screenshot of a portion of his article called The war at home.
Click the article to make it bigger so you can read the whole details
After watching this news yesterday at TFC that Chip Tsao of Hongkong published in HK Magazine called us (Filipino) as "A nation of Servants" i felt sad, but before making any knee-jerk reaction, I tried to find more information about Chip Tsao. He is a book author, broadcast journalist, columnist and former BBC reporter and reputedly famous for his “wry sense of humor and sarcasm.” He His writings have been the subject of controversy before — see this and this. The Spratly article is not the first time he’s taken a swipe at Filipino women either — see this.at the same time, look at the brighter side what's wrong with being a DH (domestic helper). It is a decent job than being a drug Lord(like what i heard from news while still in the Philippines that in some raids where an undocumented Chinese is involved) I would not say all but there are some. I felt sad that Chip Tsao is not thinking if there are also loop holes in their country that they just don't publish with the reason that it would be a shame on them if they will publish news that would riun the dignity of their country. If only cursing can kill, i would kill you by cursing you. How dare you Chip Tsao! You are racist. Don't you know that we give a big contributions to your economy serving well to your countrymen? Instead of us gaining recognition with what we did to you and to your countrymen, this is what we get. I would say that you are greedy owning the Spratly's when you know that it belongs to the Philippines. You want to earn recognition from the world by ruining the reputation of my country? What kind of person you are. Do you sleep well and are you happy with what you achieve knowing that you are hurting a person's heart? I would forgive you for your words because i know that God is not sleeping. I would pray that one day justice would prevail. Cheers....

Note: Thank you for reading the article. I did not publish this article to start a heated argument, i just want to err my side being a Filipino. I promote Peace!!!!

Detoxifying your body Part II

This is my follow-up in my latest post about detoxifying your body--- and here is the steps in preparing your body treatment.Make detox body wraps at home easily and inexpensively by combining common kitchen ingredients. Epsom salt, olive oil and green clay are used to help draw toxins from the body, and they will leave you feeling healthy and refreshed. This recipe for detox body wraps makes approximately one treatment, which should be applied immediately.
Step1
Bring 2 cups spring or distilled water to a boil. Add ¼ cup Epsom salt to the water, and stir until completely dissolved. Add 2 tbsp. high quality olive oil, and 1 cup green or bentonite clay. Stir to combine. Adjust the amount of water, if necessary, to form a thick, wet paste.
Step2
Take a warm shower, but not too hot. This will open the pores prior to applying detox body wraps, and allow the ingredients to further penetrate the skin and draw out toxins.
Step3
Undress and get into a clean bathtub. Rub the body, or part of the body, with the detox body wrap clay mixture. Cover the body with an old sheet, or salon wrapping sheets, and wrap as tightly as possible to squeeze the tissues.
Step4
Keep the detox body wrap on the body for at least one hour. You may remain longer, if desired, but no longer than two hours. Read a book or magazine, or bring in a portable television to help pass the time, if desired.
Step5
Once the allotted time has passed, remove the sheet and rinse the body thoroughly with warm water. Allow the body to air dry, if possible, rather than using a towel after rinsing. Apply moisturizer, if desired, to prevent the skin from drying out.

Good luck

Detoxifying your Body

I was browsing the net on how to detoxify my body and came accross this article. Its about seaweed body wrapping and its advantages to our body. This is the whole article you may find it useful.
A seaweed body wrap has many advantages that help the body to feel better and remove toxins. In fact, the entire process for a seaweed body wrap is an excellent way to relieve daily stress and to help the body feel new and improved. The first step for a seaweed body wrap is to exfoliate the skin. Traditionally, sea salt is used for the exfoliation process because it is most natural and does not deposit impurities into the skin cells and pores.
After the skin has been exfoliated a seaweed wrap of seaweed clay is then applied to the body. Hot towels soaked in herbal solutions are wrapped around the body to keep the seaweed clay moist. Users can leave the seaweed body wrap on from half an hour to an hour depending on the depth of skin toning, relaxation and sweating they wish to accomplish.
The best way that a seaweed wrap helps to detoxify the body is through the sweating process that helps to eliminate impurities from the body. A refreshing drink of juice and seaweed is often drunk during the wrap process to keep the body hydrated and to encourage further detoxification from the inside out. It is important to remember that with any type of body wrap that you do not want to dehydrate while you are sweating out the toxins from your body.
After the wrap is complete, the excess seaweed wrap mud is wiped off with warm cleansing cloths to be followed by an invigorating and stimulating shower. This is then followed with a skin toner and then moisturizers to lock in the smoothness that a seaweed body wrap gives to the skin. More refreshing drinks are encouraged to replenish the body of electrolytes and to help with energy.
Another advantage to a seaweed body wrap is the benefits to the skin. Seaweed body wraps contain sea salt, sea weed, amino acids and vitamins that are essential to good skin care and skin maintenance. Many users feel that their skin has tightened in areas and that fine lines or small wrinkles are diminished from a seaweed body wrap. The heat helps to redistribute fat deposits in the cells and many users find that the appearance of cellulite is also decreased. For people that have difficulties with dry skin and cracking skin, a seaweed body wrap is wonderful. The skin drinks in all the minerals, amino acids and vitamins to have a healthier glow and to retain moisture better. Many people that have dry skin find that a weekly seaweed body wrap is the solution to the problem and even do target areas between full body wraps.
If you have problems with aching bones, arthritis, joint pain or water retention a weekly seaweed body wrap can be beneficial to you as well. Many users reported that they feel better after a seaweed body wrap and have fewer aches and pains. This should not be used as a substitute for the care and medications of your professional health care team but can be an alternative to discuss with your doctor about trying a few times.
As you can see, there are many advantages to a seaweed body wrap. Always consult with your doctor prior to doing any type of body wrap since you are exposed to a great deal of heat. Some people with certain medical conditions are not advised to use body wraps.

I just hope these information helps you my dear readers . Know that our health is very important. I will post a follow up on how you can detoxify yourself at home without spending so much going to the spa. You can do it right at your bathroom....

Make Exercise a Habit

I always believe that Natural Beauty comes from within, accompanied by healthy diet and exercise. No matter what cosmetic products you put on your skin or clean your face with the best cleansing products, if you dont have a healthy lifestyle, every effort that we have will have a bad result. For instance we will get sickness such as fats develop in the body that would lead us to hypentension. Such sickness is just one part. So to star twith we must develop ourselves first trying our best to be beautiful inside and out. Exercise doesn't only keep you fit, and healthy, but keeps your stress away.Having an exercise equipment at home will not only remind you about the importance of fitness in your life, but it is also a good investment for you and your family. One good thing when you buy large products or equipments on the internet is, you dont have to worry on how will you bring them to your house. It will be delivered right infront of your doorstep. I think Treadmills is one of the best exercise equipment that one should have in their house. Exercising using a Treadmills doesn't require any special skills. You simply walk or run and sweat for your health. To start your day always include exercise on your beauty routine.HSN. com provides you the best and affordable Treadmills.

Jollibee goes to Queens, New York

I and my sons makes it a pointtovisit Jollibee everytime we do our grocery at SM City in Quezon City. We never fail to order the Jolibee Chicken Joy of 2 pcs and that includes rice too. We love the taste of the chicken together and the gravy. I could say that you would enjoy eating it because its crispy and juicy really taste good! I really miss going there all i can do is sigh now that I am here in the US. Alas!Just recently a Jollibee branch was opened in Woodside, Queens, New York’s first, expatriates have lined up for a taste of home and on weekends the waiting is long as much as an hour just to get in the door. Jollibee is known as the McDonald’s of the Philippines, and its menu will be familiar to anyone who’s passed under the golden arches.
Here is the prices of the menu:
Chickenjoy, Jollibee’s specialty (one piece, $2.99; three pieces, $6.89; 18 pieces, $38.99), its fried chicken- with moist meat, a crispy but not too thick batter and, when ordered spicy, a dusting of potent chili powder. It’s a bit salty, but as one diner explained, that’s why Filipinos enjoy Chickenjoy.
After a passel of forgettable burgers ($1.39 to $6.29) and fresh, honest sides (buttered corn, mashed potatoes — regular $1.99, large $3.59), the menu heads for odder territory.
Spaghetti ($4.49) is topped with a sweet, hot-dog-and-ham-studded tomato sauce, and is frighteningly addictive. Palabok Fiesta ($5.79) is the only recognizably Asian dish: rice noodles in a gummy-but-yummy sauce of fish flakes, pork, shrimp, egg and crumbled chicharon.
Jollibee’s signature deep-fried peach-mango pie ($2.29) is crusty and intensely fruity.

I am really happy and excited although I have not been there yet, but I know that one day I could visit the place. I and my Filipina friends are planning to go there but the time is not yet available for us. I am looking forward to it very soon. I know even if we wait for an hour or so it’s worth the wait.

Speaking of Pastries

I love Sal & Dom's Pastry Shop.
It's definitely what I consider to be a Bronx staple! Great Italian treats and they even have a great sugar-free selection!
You won't find too many places like this in the Bronx, unless you head over to Arthur Avenue (Little Italy), but I still love Sal & Dom's the best.
My friend takes me there twice already and she said her brother -in-law introduce that pastry shop to her. The carrot cake and cannolis are the tops. But i like also other cookies too. And when i crave for it i just call my friend and we would go there.
It can be crowded at times. So it's better to get there
early.
Prices are reasonable, but it doesn't matter. The pastries are so good, they're worth the money spent.

Thanks to you

A poem for my best friend, my love, and my life:
I want to say thank you..
for all the love you have given me,
for all the happiness you brought into my life.
Even though i brought so much pain to you,
you never gave up
and still you love me more,
you never run out of patience
when it comes to me.
I have nothing to ask for
except your love,
my life will never be complete,
my life will never be this perfect.
Thanks for all the love you gave to me,
with all my heart i will cherish your love,
i will treasure it
and take care of it till my last breath..
Hon,From time to time, I utter the words I love you to express how much you mean to me. I hope you feel the truth behind these precious words…because these words mean you are my life, my happiness, my strength and my forever love!!! Thank you for being always there when i needed a shoulder to lean to.

Best Gift

Sometime in February i write a blog about the Cross Pendant with The Lords Prayer at the center of the pendant. It was a gift to me by my hubby before when he was still courting me. Said pendant come from his mother and he handed it to me since his mother died already. But as i am saying in my previous blog that said cross broke and i give it to a friend who said that she could fix it by her friend who knows how to fix jewelry only to know that it was burned. Both of us are working me and hubby and it so happened that i got home first, so i check out the mails in the mail box and i saw a box addressed to my hubby. I call him on the phone telling him i got a box from UPS in the mail and he said that would be his surprise to me come May 9 our first Wedding Anniversary. He wants to surprise me and he intends to give it to me when we go to Florida for our anniversary trip. But he said anyway you already have it and no longer a surprise you open it, its for you. I said thank you put off the phone and open the package, Oh my God the Cross pendant with the Lord's prayer. So i hold it again to the light, peep on the glass and there i saw the Lords Prayer written inside. The words are very small but very clear. I feel something strange inside me just like a water was poured in my whole body to wash me and clean me and also i feel a hand running in my heart, that was after reading the words, i shed tears and kissed the cross. I really miss wearing it. Now that i have it i intend to have it blessed and occassionally wear it so it will stay long in my care. Sorry hubby, you cannot hide things from me, lol. Anyways, thank you for being close to Yahweh El Shaddai and once again thank you for giving me this gift. You just don't know how much i love being given such gifts like this. Rarely friends and members of our family give such gift like this, for the always give gifts that are familiar to us like bags, earrings, etc. They forget religious gift items, right? Gifts like this is always treasured as this remind us connection to our Heavenly Father who is our Creator.

Energetic Dog

cute dog
his name is adie

he really wants to pose with tongue out

I met this dog at our clinic when his boss go there for her quarterly dental exam. At first when this dog come to me i did not touch him although he is wagging his tail. I am not afraid of dogs but if its just our first meeting i won't dare touching them as i am afraid they might bite me. I know they are injected with anti-rabies, still i am cautious. Its hard if the dog change their mood we never know. Anyway, the owner said that the dog has a problem with his knees and he was just lying before they come to the dental clinic but to the owner's surprise he is energetic and he wants to play with me while the doctor is cleaning his boss teeth. We had fun with his ball and he is running while catching it. Seems that there is no trace of knee problem. While playing i started getting a picture and he poses. See the picture his tongue is out. I really love this dog so cute and friendly.

Turkey & Chip n Dip platter

We've heard that Fortune Off store in White Plains is closing soon. So me and my two Filipina friends went there to see what are the items for sale. Alas, we know that the items that they sell in there are very expensive because as what i have learned from my hubby and this 2 friends of mine it is a store for the well-off or rich people in the Westchester area. And knowing too that mostly of the prices of commodities in this area is high so with the cost of living. Hmmmnn, to sum it up everything in here is expensive even the houses. Anyway, even if most the items at Fortune off is just 20% off and the fact that it would be closing soon, we are expecting for 50% to 75% off he he he (barat talaga 'no) i still manage to get this turkey platter for $8. This is a China made ware with rose design and gold trim. Part of the Old Country Roses Collection, Royal England that is beautifully hand crafted with gold edges. Imagine that i had a good deal and i said what a best buy he he he. I only get this one because the Chip and dip platter below is not available anymore.

My friend buy the plate above and this kind of Chip and dip platter for $ 15 too. And the other friend just get the second one as the stock not available too. Sad to say that the items is limited only for the reason that they are closing. Anyway (di kami umuwing luhaan, ika nga)as we were able to buy good items at the ever lowest price.

Teeth Grinding is also known as Bruxism

I was forced to research this article as this problem bothers me. My youngest son in the Philippines who is 18 years old is still grinding his teeth when he is asleep. In the middle of the night sometimes i wake up of his grinding that is so loud that i sometimes shake him just to avoid it. One time he was that time 10 years i really couldn't sleep that i pinch him in his groin in the middle of the night and he was shocked and crying asking me why i pinch him, i pity him and it breaks my heart after that after all he doesn't know that he was grinding. I told him that he grinds his teeth and he ask me what shall he do to avoid it and me being a mother doesn't know why he grinds. I am thinking that this is just natural and it will go away when he gets older. In my talk with a friend they told me that if it happens again i must get one of my slipper and slap him on the face which i did too uttering the word may that bad habit of yours go away then throw the slippers out of the window. Too bad because i slap him with my slipper harder that he end up in crying again in the middle of the night(he was then 17 years old)and again he was shocked that he could not say anything but ask me why and my answer is just to help him. I thought that by doing so it would stop but until now it is still the same. Until last night i googled it and the following explains.

Teeth grinding is clinically referred to as bruxism. Simply defined, it is the act of consciously or unconsciously clenching your teeth either during the day or while you sleep. Bruxism is considered both a medical and dental problem, as it affects both the teeth and all the structure near it, including the head.

Teeth grinding usually happens when one sleeps. Have you ever had a roommate or a sleeping partner that snores? Well you might have one that grinds their teeth in sleep as well. Teeth grinding is as common as snoring. But unlike snoring, teeth grinding sounds are a little on the low side, although it could be as bothersome as well.

People grind their teeth for a number of reasons. Doctors believe that it is because of stress. Dentists say that it happens because one's teeth are not properly aligned with each other. There are quite a lot of reasons why people grind their teeth. To know more about teeth grinding causes, read our article.

Teeth grinding happens in kids too. Some parents might find it disturbing to hear their child grinding their teeth in their sleep. While it is really not a big problem for kids as it is in adults, it is still proper to bring your child to a dentist so his teeth are checked. Children normally outgrow their teeth grinding habits. But if you would like to learn how teeth grinding affects children, check out the article.

Kids usually outgrow teeth grinding because their teeth are not yet permanent. Eventually, their baby teeth will be replaced with a permanent set that's stronger, better, and more aligned.
However, the same can't be said with adults. Adult teeth are permanent and would never change any longer. Therefore, adults should watch out for the complications of teeth grinding.

Teeth grinding, although it is not a major health issue, could bring about problems like mouth, jaw, and face problems, broken dentures, missing teeth, and several others. It is very important for adults to consult a dentist so that their teeth grinding habit is addressed before any further problem develops.

One would know if he or she suffers from bruxism if the symptoms of teeth grinding appear. The symptoms of this condition vary greatly with its root cause. Some or all of the symptoms may appear. So if your roommate tells you that you clench your teeth in your sleep, don't put it aside. Consult your dentist right away.

Why is it important to know about Ovarian Cyst?

Women must learn this kind of disease. Information is a must so that we will know what to do when this happen to us. We cannot just deny or ignore the fact that this happens to a woman, so we must be cautious and see a doctor regularly for check-up and from there doctors will monitor us on what is happening to our body especially the part of our stomach where the ovary is located.
PCOS is short for Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. This disease has a complex symptoms that often miss-diagnose by many physicians. If you have this disease you better research more about this because you cannot get all the information from your physician, you have to do your homework so you will understand your disease better. The symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome vary widely from woman to woman. In addition to polycystic ovaries, they can also include: irregular or completely absent periods, Hirsutism (excessive facial or body hair), Alopecia (male pattern hair loss), obesity, acne, skin tags (raisin-like growths on the skin), Acanthosis Nigricans (brown skin patches), exhaustion or lack of mental alertness and decreased sex drive. Because the symptoms vary so widely and not all women display all the symptoms, doctors very often misdiagnose PCOS. This became an issue of critical concern after a study in 2000 found that women suffering from PCOS have a higher risk of coronary heart disease.Researchers discovered a link between Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and other metabolic conditions such as obesity, high blood pressure and high levels of LDL "bad" cholesterol, all of which are risk factors for coronary heart disease.Studies have also shown an increased link between PCOS and atherosclerosis, which occurs when fatty deposits called plaque cling to the interior walls of the arteries, leading to blockages that can cause heart attacks or stroke. Not only do PCOS sufferers have higher rates of plaque buildup but those over 45 have thicker deposits of plaque.Another report indicated that up to 40% of women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome have either impaired glucose tolerance or Type 2 Diabetes by the age of 40.All these findings substantially raise the bar on the seriousness of PCOS, making it even more important that doctors correctly diagnose the condition and instruct their patients about Insulin Resistance.Even the removal of the ovaries will not completely eliminate this disorder. A complete system of elements is needed to reverse Insulin Resistance and PCOS.

The picture above is what we call jeepney . This is the most popular means of public transportation among the Filipino. Per my research they were originally made and inspired from US Military jeeps during the World War II. Since then they become a symbol of Philippine culture. Filipinos are known for their love of art thus most of this jeepneys are colourfully and beautifully decorated. You can see drawings, and paintings on the body of the jeep. In front are names - all come from the imaginative mind of a gifted hands behind the personality we call the artist. Various destinations are normally painted on the sides of the jeep and sometimes there is a signage in the mirror in front the driver. Each jeepney is a testament of artistic ability of the designer . It is specially constructed to be able to hold a heavy load. Normally this capacity of the passengers are 12 to 16 people. This passenger vehicle can take you anywhere. Passengers that board go anywhere. In Manila this jeep has certain routes. And they just go back and forth. Jeepney is considered as the public transport of an ordinary Filipino because of the cheapest and affordable fare. From the busy streets Philippines capital Manila down to the provinces of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao jeepney is really popular because they can do better. And because of its popularity the seats inside are filled with passengers and their belongings, seated face to face, knee to knee because of this, the personal space is minimized. Even if the jeep is full still most drivers and conductors accept new passengers again new addition to the crowd. But because the Filipinos are flexible and creative they will still get on board to the crowded jeep eager to start their journey going to their destination not minding if they would be hanging on the tail of the bumper, sits on roof of the jeep or infront of the jeep just like what you see in the picture above. This often times happen in the provinces and in the remote areas that due to lack of transportation and the schedule of the trip is once a day. Although the scenery is not good because sometimes you never know accident might happen still a lot of drivers (not all) tolerate it simply because they want to earn not thinking that by simply earning a little amount can risk the lives of this people. One interesting part of taking a jeep is, it serves as a mirror in a daily life of an ordinary people. By just standing at the side of the road waiting for a jeep and just one waive of this passenger’s hand is enough to catch a ride. If you are on top of the jeep all you need is get your one peso coin and knock the roof so the driver could hear and make a his way to stop the vehicle. Even if sometimes its scary because some drivers drives fast as if they are the king of the road still when you reach your destiny safely you can just utter thank you, Lord I made it and I had fun…..

Say bye, bye to Winter

Spring is getting near. I am a little bit happy because I will not be wearing lot of clothes. Reasons why I will not miss winter that much:
1. No wet mornings anymore except if it rains.
2. No cold and chilly days
3. I don't like to go somewhere because i need to change layers of clothes
4. i can't stand those thick clothing’s and my being fashion conscious disappear.
5. Boring environment
6. Trees and plant are all dead like we have ghost forests he he he
7. After snow roads are wet and scary to walk and drive
8. The Windy days made me shiver especially early morning
9. When its winter I feel itchy all over my body that I want to stay near the radiator to warm myself
10. I feel lazy to take a bath, if I don’t go to work
11. I gain weight because of eating without exercising and last I just want to cuddle my fleece blanket and sleep.

When You Divorce Me, Carry Me Out in Your Arms

This is a nice piece for those who are married, about to get marriedand for the singles as well who wish to be married. Please take the time to read.

On my wedding day, I carried my wife in my arms.
The bridal car stopped in front of our one-room flat.
My buddies insisted that I carry her out of the car in my arms.
So I carried her into our home. She was then plump and shy..
I was a strong and happy bridegroom.
This was the scene ten years ago.
The following days were as simple as a cup of pure water: we had a kid;
I went into business and tried to make more money.
When the assets were steadily increasing, the affection between us seemed to ebb.
She was a civil servant. Every morning we left home together and got home almost at the same time.
Our kid was studying in a boarding school.
Our marriage life seemed to be enviably happy. But the calm life was more likely to be affected by unpredictable changes.
Dew came into my life.
It was a sunny day. I stood on a spacious balcony. Dew hugged me from behind.
My heart once again was immersed in her stream of love.
This was the apartment I bought for her.
Dew said, you are the kind of man who best draws girls' eyeballs.
Her words suddenly reminded me of my wife.
When we were just married, my wife said, Men like you, once successful, will be very attractive to girls.
Thinking of this, I became somewhat hesitant.
I knew I had betrayed my wife.
But I couldn't help doing so. I moved Dew's hands aside and said you go to select some furniture, O.K.?
I've got something to do in the company.
Obviously she was unhappy, because I had promised to do it together with her.
At the moment, the idea of divorce became clearer in my mind although it used to be something impossible to me.
However, I found it rather difficult to tell my wife, about it.
No matter how mildly I mentioned it to her, she would be deeply hurt.
Honestly, she was a goodwife. Every evening she was busy preparing dinner. I was sitting in front of the TV.
The dinner was ready soon.
Then we watched TV together.
Or, I was lounging before the computer, visualizing Dew's body. This was the means of my entertainment.
One day I said to her in a slightly joking way, suppose we divorce, what will you do?
She stared at me for a few seconds without a word.
Apparently she believed that divorce was something too far away from her.
I couldn't imagine how she would react once she got to know I was serious.
When my wife went to my office, Dew had just stepped out. Almost all the staff looked at my wife with a sympathetic eye and tried to hide something while talking to her.
She seemed to have got some hint.
She gently smiled at my subordinates.
But I read some hurt in her eyes.
Once again, Dew said to me, Hey Ning, divorce her, O.K.?
Then we live together. I nodded.
I knew I could not hesitate any more.
When my wife served the last dish, I held her hand. I've got something to tell you, I said.
She sat down and ate quietly.
Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.
Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth.
But I had to let her know what I was thinking.
I want a divorce. I raised the serious topic calmly.
She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly,
why? I'm serious. I avoided her question.
This so-called answer made her angry..
She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man!
That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping.
I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer, because my heart had gone to Dew.
With a deep sense of guilt,
I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.
She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces.
I felt a pain in my heart.
The woman who had been living ten years with me would become a stranger one day. But I could not take back what I had said.
Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see.
To me her cry was actually a kind of release.
The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer.
Late that night, I came back home after entertaining my clients.
I saw her writing something at the table. I fall asleep fast.
When I woke up, I found she was still there. I turned over and was asleep again.
She brought up her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but I was supposed to give her one month s time before divorce, and in the month's time we must live as normal a life as possible.
Her reason was simple: our son would finish his summer vacation a month later and she didn't want him to see our marriage was broken.
She passed me the agreement she drafted, and then asked me,
Hey Ning, do you still remember how I entered our bridal room on the wedding day?
This question suddenly brought back all those wonderful memories to me. I nodded and said, I remember.
You carried me in your arms, she continued, so, I have a requirement, that is, you carry me out in your arms on the
day when we divorce.
From now to the end of this month, you must carry me
out from the bedroom to the door every morning.
I accepted with a smile. I knew she missed those sweet days and wished to end her marriage romantically.
I told Dew about my wife’s divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd.
No matter what tricks she does, she has to face the result of divorce, she said scornfully.
Her words more or less made me feel uncomfortable.
My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed.
We even treated each other as a stranger.
So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy.
Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain.
From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the
door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms.
She closed her eyes and said softly,
Let us start from today, don't tell our son. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset.
I put her down outside the door.
She went to wait for a bus, I drove to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily.
She leaned on my chest.
We were so close that I could smell the fragrance of her blouse.
I realized that I hadn't looked at this intimate woman carefully for a long time. I found she was not young any more.
There were some fine wrinkles on her face.
On the third day, she whispered to me, the outside garden is being
demolished.
Be careful when you pass there. On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I seemed to feel that we were still an intimate couple and I was holding my sweetheart in my arms.
The visualization of Dew became vague.
On the fifth and sixth day, she kept reminding me something, such as, where she put the ironed shirts, I should be careful while cooking, etc.
I nodded. The sense of intimacy was even stronger. I didn't tell Dew about this. I felt it was easier to carry her.
Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.
I said to her, It seems not difficult to carry you now.
She was picking her dresses. I was waiting to carry her out.
She tried quite a few but could not find a suitable one.
Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I smiled.
But I suddenly realized that it was because she was thinner that I could carry her more easily, not because I was stronger.
I knew she had buried all the bitterness in her heart.
Again, I felt a sense of pain.. Subconsciously I reached out a hand to touch her head.
Our son came in at the moment. Dad, it's time to carry mum out. He said. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had been an essential part of his life.
She gestured our son to come closer and hugged him tightly.
I turned my face because I was afraid I would change my mind at
the last minute.
I held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through
the sitting room, to the hallway.
Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally.
I held her body tightly, as if we came back to our wedding day. But her much lighter weight made me sad.
On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step.
Our son had gone to school. She said, actually I hope you will hold me in
your arms until we are old. I held her tightly and said, both you and I didn't notice that our life lacked intimacy.
I jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door.
I was afraid any delay would make me change my decision.
I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door. I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I won't divorce. I'm serious.
She looked at me, astonished.
Then she touched my forehead. You got no fever..
She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said,
I can only say sorry to you, I won't divorce.
My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of life, not because we didn't love each other any more.
Now I understand that since I carried her into the home, she gave birth to our child, I am supposed to hold her until I am old.
So I have to say sorry to you.
Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears.
I walked downstairs and drove to the office.
When I passed the floral shop on the way,
I ordered a bouquet for my wife which was her favorite.
The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card.
I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until we are old.
