AMANPULO HOTEL

The Amanpulo is a beautiful hotel in a perfect setting. I could say that this place is unique and it is the best beach resort in Asia. A Peacefully Elegant Resort situated on private island of Pamalican, part of the Quiniluban group of Cuyo islands. Amazing place for honeymooners. And best romantic get-away for lovers. For those who want the serenity. This is the best place where you could breathe well because of fresh air, no pollution and say WOW this place is really perfect. If you love nature this is the best place with the Beach where in you could walk the sand,

snorkeling so you could see the beauty of God’s creation underwater,

boating if you love it , diving

and swimming.
If you are alone best to be one in one with mother nature where you can think, reminisce, or you can compose if you are a composer, write if you are a writer, the place is also good for retreats for those who want healing he he he lol, for this place is really quite and very far from the hustle bustle cities of Manila. And yes, you can witness the perfect view
sunset and take pictures without disturbance. It’s beautiful. Mind you this place is expensive but your vacation is really worth it.

Kitchen Aid

I was browsing the net looking for a soap dispenser for my small space kitchen. While browsing I happen to see this Automatic Soap and Liquid Dispenser. This dispenser has a Light-up LCD screen shows amount to dispense on top thru the +/- sign, Liquid left thru the green bold lines and same with battery life .It holds 6oz. of uses. When it runs out of soap it would blink. This needs 3 AA batteries but it is not included in the purchase. Infrared motion sensor provides sanitary hands free operation. Removable tray. It’s perfect and easy to use because when you want a liquid soap you just put your palm near the sensor and it will automatically dispense the amount of soap you needed base on what you set on the screen. Using this brings comfort to me, less time and without a mess.

KUNG HEI FAT CHOI

Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday among the Chinese-Filipino Community in the Philippines. Because today is their New Year I am greeting them Kung Hei Fat Choi.
Welcome YEAR OF THE OX.
this is the Chinese sign OX

These are some of the Chinese traditions that until now they are still practicing:
This Dragon Dance is performed as entertainment during the festive of Chinese New Year.

Fireworks- to drive the bad evils away
gold coins

Paper money and other lucky charms that you will hang in the doors or inside the house

Wearing of red clothes - as red is the symbol of luck

It is customary for the family to prepare sweet foods or foods made from glutinous rice such as TIKOY-as this represents family to stick together. This is also the stuff that is favorite to give among friends. Cooked Noodles as symbol of long life
Don’t forget the 12 different kind round of fruits that means wealth.

On New Year’s Eve, all family members gather for this food as their evening mealBy lighting incense before the meal, the head of the family symbolically invites the departed ancestors to join the occasion. After the meal, children pay their respects to their parents by bowing to them. In return, parents give their children money in red envelopes.

My ancestors on the father side is Chinese. We still carry some of these traditions in the family like having 12 kinds of fruits in the table, cooking pancit or rice noodles, hanging pineapple on the front door, putting coins in the rice, throwing small oranges called kiat-kiat with coins in the open door from inside going out. To us this means luck and praying for thanks. I believe in luck but you have to work for it. These are only guide for us. Luck will not come your way if you are lazy. You have to work with patient and perseverance and with the Lord's guide which means prayers.

Visit to Virginia

This January we have a chance to visit my Uncle in Virginia. While in there he toured us to the place called Jamestown. Jamestown is an island located in the Historic Triangle of Virginia, seven miles from Colonial Williamsburg down the Colonial Parkway. This place is rich in terms of history and culture. According to the history there are One Hundred seven (107) Englishmen arrived in three small ships and these people settled in that area. Now Jamestown Settlement is preserved and considered one of the tourist spots of Virginia. I was impressed how this place is preserved and maintained not only for the people living in this area, but for the future generations and also for the tourists who wants to know, learn and discover some of the beautiful historic spots of this beautiful part of Virginia. We took some pictures in and out of the Settlement but sad to say that have not seen the video that was inside the place and my only consolition was when we visit their shops and i bought keychains and displays.
Located in front of the Jamestown Welcome Center is the Lawn of Flags
